Jonathan's Birthday Celebration

Wednesday night we celebrated Jonathan's birthday...this year he is an engaged guy. Next year...he will be a husband. Oh man, the sound of that is so neat.  I am so blessed to be Jon's Momma.  He is such an amazing guy.  He always makes me laugh!  He is a great son to us, brother to Holly and Matt, and wonderful fiance to his Stephanie.  I am so happy for my son, but it's hard to not keep thinking I wish he was still the little boy in the picture up top.  

After work I drove out to Jon and Steph's apartment in Redondo Beach and headed out for Jon's birthday dinner.

Jon is always less than thrilled when they sing to him...I love it!

It's worth it for the birthday dessert tho.

After a delicious dinner, we headed back to Jon and Steph's apartment for presents for this birthday boy.

Even Chloe was interested in what Steph got Jon.

Happy Birthday Jonathan.  You will forever be my baby boy. I love you so much and cannot wait to see what the future holds for you and Stephanie.

Birthday month.....me first...

Jon and I both have our birthdays in October!  Our birthday celebrations started on my actual birthday, October 7, with dinner with my mom, dad and sisters.  Kings Fish House it is! I love that place.   We always slip in calling absolutely no attention to our party or the birthday guest of honor....yeah right!!! We actually go all out and this year was no exception...crown and wings to boot.

Dinner was great. My Dad picked out the cake and my family spoiled me yet again.  

Nothing beats family to celebrate and mine is the best.

Saturday.....oh what a great day.  While I was out Jon and Steph came over so the three of us could all go out to dinner.  I was not allowed home until they were ready for me.  Hmmmmm, what could they be up to???

Look what I came home to :) The house decorated for my birthday.  Steph said she knew I would want Blog pics. How great is my future DIL.  The three of us headed to Laguna Beach where our evening started out at Las Brisas for cocktails and appetizers. Totally yummy.

Jonathan said they heard of a new place on PCH in Laguna Beach that he thought might be nice to try. So after Las Brisas we headed to restaurant #2. It was sooooo good.

My amazing family all went in together for my birthday gift.  I was so totally surprised (secretly wished I would get this) and so so happy that I did.  How spoiled am I??

Happy Fall Physiqueing

Fall.  One of my most favorite times of year....I love the fall.  I love the crisp weather. I love the turning colors of the leaves (yes, we have a few in Cali)...I love the early dark nights...here in Cali we still have warm days but beautiful cool nights.  

Welcome FALL...

I love to decorate my house for the Fall and for Halloween. 

I love to dig out my Christmas CD's...October 1...it's my rule...I love the Fall!

Now that it's fall, all I hear about is this...

The pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks...

But this is my favorite...

The salted caramel hot chocolate at Starbucks.

I love it.  I'm actually gonna get me one tomorrow for two reasons:

#1-I went to the dentist today-anyone who knows me knows that is a real feat;

#2-I did my Physique 57 tonight and I feel great!

I plan to do my Physique 57 each day in October...so

We had Stephanie's bridal shower a few weekends ago and had a blast.  She wanted a "Something Blue" shower...and we did not disappoint, if I do say so myself.  Stephanie's sister Katie, her mom and I planned the shower and we were so happy with the way it turned out.  Everyone had a really nice time and all of the guests were so generous with such amazing gifts for Stephanie.

The day was absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect..not too hot not too cold, just perfect.  Our dear neighbor Charlotte offered her backyard so we were able to rent the tables and chairs and umbrellas that Stephanie wanted.  The whole shower turned out perfect.

We found these really cute Tiffany boxes for party favors....we filled them with Gummy Bears - Stephanie's favorite!  Each table had vases with pretty white roses and Jon and Stephanie's engagement photos - all printed in black and white.

Wait........I bought new weights!!!

I am kicking butt with my Physique 57 workouts - or so I think :).  I am feeling so good physically and mentally about myself.  I came right home tonight...no, wait, I didn't.  I WENT AND BOUGHT NEW HAND WEIGHTS...the ones I had were so yesterday.

These are outta here....

I am now the proud owner of these twins.

I instantly felt the burn and I am still feeling it as I sit here doing my Physique 57 update.  I was realizing that my old hand weights were just way too light (well, maybe not way too light, that is a bit dramatic) but you know what I mean.  I want to work hard so I wake up sore because then I know I had a successful Physique 57 workout.....plus I didn't sleep well last night so I hope my Physiqueing tonight will allow me to drift off to dreamland and have a blissful slumber tonight.

BTW... today is my babygirl and awesome son-in-law's (SIL) 2nd wedding anniversary....that surely deserves a few pictures in this post as well.  I love you Holly and Matt! xoxo
